For some unknown reason, Delta got sick of advertising that it was an airline and excised the words "Air Lines" from the bag.

Another year, another bag. Tirelessly tweaking their design to attain barf bag perfection, Delta trims the budget by excising red, leaving the singular blue color gracing the bag. This is the 12th unique Delta design in the museum.

I can't tell if this is just a registration error or it's a deliberate design, but the text on this bag is far lower than its counterpart of the same vintage.

I'm all for bag diversity, but this is ridiculous. Delta unveils its 3rd bag variation of 2003, this time a plastic offering. Wisely, the instructions tell you to peel tab away 'gently', good advice if the bag is full.

After a 5 year hiatus, Delta changes its design again, this time to the Arnold-like "I'll be back", a double-entendre that functions as a seat holder. They also exhort you to "Feel Better".

I'm not sure what the vintage of this bag is -- I'm calling it 2009 -- but it's identical to the 3rd variation of 2003 EXCEPT there's now a little flower on the front.

This bag is identical to the 2003 Delta Plastic bags EXCEPT if you look at the logo, the lower half is now a pointy triangle instead of rounded parabola.

I never would have noticed it, but bagmeister David Shomper sure did!

A few years later, LK industries (?) decides that it needs to promote the fact that it's a registered trademark, even though it holds the same patent as before.

Delta decides to re-brand itself as baby friendly by making the barf bag a "Baby Care" bag. It says:
  • Changing tables in lavatories
  • Never flush diapers or bag
  • Place diaper in bag and deposit in waste container


Fortunately, it's still for barfing as it says the following on the back: FEEL BETTER
  • Never flush bags
  • Use for motion sickness
  • Deposit bag in waste container

Denver Botanic Gardens Corpse Flower

This bag was created by the Denver Botanic Gardens to celebrate the blooming of its "Corpse Flower", which is supposed to smell so bad that it makes you sick. You can read about it here.

The bag features a drawing of the flower and says, "Weird Exotic Pungent"

An excellent bag released by the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. This bag was used to mail out press releases for their exhibit called "Grossology", which runs from Oct. 7, 2005 - January 1, 2006. They have a great catchphrase: "Something's Coming Up at the Museum!", along with a baby barfing.

Serendipity brought this bag. I was interviewed about the barf bags on Denver's 99.5-FM The Mountain. Fortunately, they had just received this press release, so they offered me the bag. Hats off to them.

An unbelievably beautiful and detailed bag. You actually get the feeling you're on a cruise by looking at the bag. Scandinavians have cornered the market on beautiful design. The attention to detail in the ship's reflection shows how much loving care went into the bag, not to mention how they coddle the passenger by telling them that even the toughest sailors get sick. This bag is almost identical to its Scandinavian Seaways (A DFDS Company) predecessor. An interesting thing to note is that they misspell 'fatigue' as 'fatique'.
