OK, Bag Monster is a moronic name, but Monster has become a catch-all phrase for "Hey, this will help you do something" This section will help you find the bags you're looking for (like you're really looking for them). Leaving everything blank will retrieve a list of all bags, however that may cause the page to load slowly.

Sam

Received From: Christoph Vogel
Print or Image Color: Green and Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
Although Sam is an odd name for an Airline (like 'Bob' might be), perhaps I've fallen into the bag orientation trap. I assume Side 1, that way it's scanned in, is sideways, but if it's not, this could easily pass for "E Drainpipe Airlines". Sam is oddly reminiscent of UniSAM, discussed in more detail in the waning pages of "Cvltvre Made Stvpid (Culture Made Stupid)" by Tom Weller. Or maybe the logo is a Yin/Yang thing? Or a Safeway logo?

San

This bag has been rated R by the MPAA for violence, nudity, and strong adult content. (Actually, the box that resembles the MPAA rating says 'Plasticos Algar Cia. Ltda.')

The main part of this bag makes san look like a mismatched HTML tag. Also, San looks like it was printed with a bad dot matrix printer missing a scan line.

Four placid doves make your flight peaceful until you violently retch in them.

Santacon

Approximate Vintage: 2004
Received From: O Man
Print or Image Color: Red, White, Black
Background / Bag Color: Gray, White
A new movement called Santacon is taking the country by storm. Ordinary people get dressed up as Santa on or around Xmas and parade down the street. Celebrations vary in rowdiness, but it's just a big day of fun. After all, many, many people are disenfranchised during the holiday season, so I'm not surprised at its popularity. Anyway, mischievous New York Santacon attendee, O Man, decided to distribute barf bags for the event. Although this is only a sticker on a Sicksaver bag, it's still pretty cool. The bag says

Santa's Simple Rules
Don't Fuck w/the police
Don't Fuck w/kids
Don't Fuck w/store security
Don't Fuck w/Santa
Sincerely Santa

Beautiful in its simplicity.

SAS

First black dotted bag I'm aware of. Features interesting looking hoof kicking SAS so hard that it tilts.

Extra! Real live librarian, Janet Poff says, "The 'hoof' is actually a very stylized prow of a Viking longship". Librarians rule!!!

SAS

Received From: Dean Eckert
Print or Image Color: Blue and Black
Background / Bag Color: White and Blue
Much like the hooved version of this bag, except the hoof is notably absent. Also, ELAG is printed on the bottom.

SAS

Still has black dots but SAS is now centered.

SAS

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Christian Funch
Background / Bag Color: Half Blue, Half White
In a bold marketing decision, SAS threw subtlety to the wind and put their name RIGHT ON THE FRONT of the bag.

Very distinguished, with the word "Scandinavian" in the folds.

SAS

Approximate Vintage: 2001
Received From: Marty St. George
Background / Bag Color: Half Blue, Half Gray
Very distinguished, with the word "Scandinavian" in the folds. ELAG the manufacturer (which sounds a bit like Vlad the Impaler), got some easy press by printing their name on the bottom.

SAS

Approximate Vintage: 2007

Background / Bag Color: Orange, Blue, Gray
Scandinavian decides to add an orange tear-strip, which is a nice aesthetic touch.

This bag says,

Our Multi-Bag
You can use this in-flight, multi-bag in many was: Motion discomfort. Don't worry, it's waterproof. As an amusing glove puppet for 15 seconds. Make sure it's empty first. For food and stuff, you want to take with you.

Whatever clever use you find for it, we hope it helps!

SAS stays with the MultiBag theme -- "A multi purpose bag for you" -- but now they're a member of the Star Alliance.

SAS

Approximate Vintage: 1970
Received From: Andrew Angel
Print or Image Color: Blue, Black
Background / Bag Color: Blue, White
Awesome old bag with a mosquito atop the SAS logo, complete with a halftoned field of nothing below. The bag has a pointy bottom with writing that wraps around front to back saying "This bag is manufactured of Billerud's MG Bleached Polythene-Coated Kraft Paper. Converter: AB Herman Stenberg Stockholm Sweden"

"Billerud's MG Bleached Polythene-Coated Kraft Paper" bears repeating because it's so ridiculous.

SAS keeps tinkering with the bags making them look more modern but still the same.

SATA

Approximate Vintage: 2004

Print or Image Color: Light Gray

A flimsy bag whose ancestor, Air Acores, no longer appears on the bag. Probably a move by some large ego CEO that wanted to eliminate all references to the company he displaced, and figure the barf bag was just the place to do it.

Satellite Gore

Approximate Vintage: 1999
Print or Image Color: Green
Background / Bag Color: White
I can't quite figure out what this bag is all about. It was sent to me anonymously, so I don't know how to find out more information about it. The note that came with the bag says that the bags were distributed to the first 100 people at an art show in Manhattan. The exhibit was R. Land at Maxfish.

I don't know if it's a real movie or not. It may just be the artwork for a fictional movie. Who can tell? The bag came filled with rubber vomit, a very nice touch. I find the bag to be one of the more interesting artifacts in this museum.

Also, be sure to check out the bottom of the bag. They spared no expense in making this artistic.

Identical to the other English Satellite Gore bag except there's nothing on the bottom.

This is the Spanish version of Satellite Gore. It's a stunning departure from the industry standard of placing several languages on a single bag.
